Newman Center Events
Newman Night
Every Wednesday evening from 6:45-9:00 PM is our Newman Night Social, following Mass, Adoration, and Confession. Students gather in our student lounge for food and time to hang out. Newman Nights often have a theme or activity—like trivia, a movie, a bonfire, and more!
Day Trips & Pilgrimages
Every year, the Newman Center plans day trips for our students to attend. Some of our past trips have been to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., the Eucharistic Congress in Ocean City, MD, and the National Centre for St. Padre Pio in Barto, PA. Sign up for our student email list to hear about trips happening this school year!
Theology On Tap
Once a semester, we host “Theology on Tap” at Klondike Kate’s Restaurant & Bar on Main Street. We invite a Catholic speaker in to talk to students about a topic of our faith. We always enjoy good food and a drink (for those 21+)!

Fall Hayride & Bonfire
Every October, the Newman Center invites our students to Milburn Orchards—a local apple orchard—for a hayride and a bonfire on their 400+ acre property. This is a great fall event!
SEEK Conference!
Every January, our students are invited by our FOCUS missionaries to attend the SEEK Conference. This conference gathers thousands of college students together to learn about their faith from some of the best Catholic speakers in the country. SEEK is a great opportunity for fellowship and to grow in prayer and faith. Connect with one of our FOCUS missionaries to learn more about SEEK and to sign up!
Service Opportunities
Service opportunities are held throughout the school year and are coordinated by one of our student leaders and our campus minister. Some of our service opportunities include:
PB&J Club
Every month, students are invited to serve the local community by making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those in need. Our students make over 100 sandwiches to be donated to local meal distribution centers in Newark, DE and Elkton, MD.
Little Sisters of the Poor
Students work along side the Little Sisters of the Poor at the nursing home they run in Newark, DE. Students assist the elderly with arts & crafts, serving food, and talking with the residents.
